CGIAR is a global research partnership for a food secure future dedicated to reducing poverty, enhancing food and nutrition security, and improving natural resources. A representation of CGIAR Funders come together to form the CGIAR System Council and are guided by the Strategy and Results Framework. The Genebank Platform is one of 15 cross-center initiatives supported by CGIAR.
The Crop Trust is an internationally recognised body that aims to ensure the conservation and availability of crop diversity for food security worldwide. The Genebank Platform is part of the Crop Trust’s overall effort to safeguard globally important ex situ collections and promote a rational, efficient and sustainable global system. The Crop Trust supports the CGIAR genebanks together with other international genebanks through unique long-term grants.
